BUTTERFLY
Pop
solo artist singer Pimluck had been singing Thai
ballads for as long as she could remember. Wanting
an exciting change in her career, she formed a garage
rock band with bassist TV star Katy who also thought
her “goody-good girl” image needed a
transformation. In one week the all-girl band was
formed: Nijji (Pimluck’s sister) as the keyboardist,
Sugar as the timekeeper and Sarida as the guitarist.
Venus
Butterfly knew their success depended on how well
they played their instruments together. Determined
and committed, the girls spent months of dedicated
rehearsals until they were ready. This was the beginning
of Venus Butterfly. Together they created the coolest
and baddest all girl group on the planet with attitude.
Finally, they were ready to rock and roll.
As
Venus Butterfly’s music career took wing,
it landed them their first concert performance in
opening for the popular Thai rock band Pru. Their
second gig was a huge jump to the annual “Fat
Music Festival” where hundreds of thousands
of teenagers attended.
Concurrently,
singles were recorded and hits were made but no
album was released because they had a much bigger
picture. Album contracts were offered by many Thai
record companies but Venus Butterfly refused the
offers because they wanted to be an international
act.
Their
initial experience in becoming an international
sensation was when Former Singapore Warner Music
President Jimmy Wee invited Venus Butterfly to became
the first Thai rock band to perform at “Bay
Beat” (Singapore’s International music
festival).
Their
most important performance was at Bakery Music’s
10th Year Anniversary Concert in Bangkok, one of
the biggest concerts in Thai history which was organized
by Music executive Sukie Kamolsokosol Clapp. Suki
saw the potential of the band and called international
multi-gold and platinum producer David Kenneth Eng
from New York for a meeting. David meets the band
and immediately signed them to his management company
and label.
Venus
Butterfly is currently working on their first Thai
and English albums which will be released by the
end of this year.
